“ALL DAY DESHAY”

I had the pleasure of working with Brandun DeShay on this project. If you don’t know who he is, Wikipedia says;

“Brandun DeShay (born May 10, 1989), is an American hip hop rapper and record producer. Born in Chicago, he has produced for former Young Money artist Curren$y, independent rapper Dom Kennedy, and Von Pea of Tanya Morgan. His first official music video, Why You Gotta Zodiac Like That has been in rotation on MTVU. He has produced for all four of his releases. He is also a former member of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.”

I’ve been in touch with Brandun since he released his first mixtape, “Volume: One! For The Money” in 2008 when he was still part of Odd Future, and we were still using MySpace. If you go check that mixtape out, you will notice young Tyler, the Creator and also Casey Veggies on there. Whatever the “beef” between him and Tyler isn’t important; it’s cool to see all of these guys blowing up at the same time.

Brandun’s work ethic has put him to where he is now—dropping mixtapes over mixtapes. He has produced for Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Mac Miller, Von Pea, Sir Michael Rocks, Danny Brown, Casey Veggies—mostly their best tracks on their albums. He recently released his first album, “All Day Deshay: AM”; he’s now working on the second part of the series, “All Day Deshay: PM”. Brandun DeShay is the guy you’re gonna look back and say, “I knew him before he blew up”.
