MMVIII 2012 S/S Collection Delivery 2 will be available at our Online Shop on July 17th, 2012.
This piece is a collaboration between MMVIII and an illustrator Reilly Fong. Kabutomushi is a Japanese rhinoceros beetle, which will live most of its life underground, for it only lives about four months as an actual beetle. The earliest beetles will come out of the ground in late spring; they will usually die around middle September to early October. When I was young in Japan, we used to catch these bugs and breed them.
First batch of Snapbacks from MMVIII; comes in Black, Dark Navy and Royal Blue.
We’re young and we get twisted. There are many symbolic images on it, including the flag of Tokyo and British Columbia, Japanese Katana swords, and “country of Japan” in Japanese Kanji writing. The Katana swords were worn by the military nobility samurai.
